June 2009 - New functionality:
Online reporting, E-mail & Multiple contacts

The UK Government has announced that in the future all schools should be able to communicate electronically with Parent's to enhance their relationship with the school, and improve issues such as unauthorised absences.

Online reporting

Online reporting will also keep Parents informed of 5 important areas: Progress, Attainment, Behaviour, Special Needs & Attendance.
In January this year, Groupcall launched an on-line reporting tool for SIMS.NET users. Over the summer, we're planning to offer the same functionality for Serco Facility customers.

E-mail

Groupcall clients already have the tools to meet their own, and the Government's communication goals, however, to further enhance this capability we have added e-mail functionality to Messenger. This facility allows schools to send items such as newsletters and school information to parents electronically, saving significant printing and postage costs.

Groupcall Messenger e-mail can be used in conjunction with our existing SMS and voice facilities as an online reporting tool to enable schools to provide academic information and important notices directly, efficiently, and instantly to parents.

Coming soon - Multiple Contacts

Currently Messenger allows you to communicate with the primary parental contact in your MIS. Over the summer holidays, we are planning to add the following enhancements to Messenger:

– The ability to send messages to the 2nd & 3rd contacts with parental responsibility.
– For Secondary schools & Academies: Communication with students will be added.
Look out for the automated upgrade instructions.
